Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how TheCouponsDeals(“we”, “us”) handles information in connection with our website and our “TheCouponsDeals– Coupon Finder” browser extension (the “Extension”). We built the Extension to be privacy-preserving: it helps you find coupons for the store you are viewing without collecting your personal information.

Information the Extension accesses

When you open the Extension, or as you browse, it reads only the hostname of your active tab (for example, myntra.com) to identify which online store you are on and show relevant coupons and deals. This matching happens locally, in your browser. The Extension does not read the content of the pages you visit, your form inputs, your browsing history, or any other personal data.

How browser permissions are used

• activeTab— reads the current tab’s hostname when you open the Extension so we can match it to a store.
• tabs — detects the store you are on as you navigate so the toolbar badge can show how many coupons are available, without you having to open the popup. Only the hostname is used.
• storage — caches the fetched list of coupons locally in your browser so the popup opens quickly and we make fewer network requests.
• Host access to our API (api.thecouponsdeals.com) — used to download the current list of public coupons and deals for display. These are read-only requests for public offer data; no information about you or your browsing is sent.

Information we do not collect

The Extension does not require an account and does not collect or transmit personally identifiable information, browsing history, or page content. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with third parties, and we do not use your data for advertising, creditworthiness, or any purpose unrelated to showing you coupons.

Network requests

The Extension retrieves coupon and store data from our own backend at api.thecouponsdeals.com. These requests fetch public offer data only; they do not include your identity, the specific pages you view, or any personal information.

Data retention and local storage

Cached coupon data is stored locally on your device via the browser’s extension storage and is refreshed periodically. You can clear it at any time by removing the Extension from your browser.

Children’s privacy

Our services are intended for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
